Skin Cancer
There are several different types of skin cancer. Most are associated with prolonged exposure to the damaging ultraviolet radiation in sunlight and fair skinned people are most at risk. Skin cancer is very common, affects millions of people around the world and causes a large number of deaths every year.
However, most types can be treated successful if they are detected at an early stage. Most skin cancers grow slowly, confine themselves to the skin and do not spread to other parts of the body. The exception, however, is malignant melanoma.
Skin cancer is one of the most treatable forms of the disease, but like most cancers it is essential to seek advice if you have any symptoms at all, to make sure that you catch the problem in its earliest stages. Skin cancer may have no apparent cause, or it may develop as the result of external factors-as it may develop as the result of external factors-as in exposure to strong sun.
