About Me:

RONITA:

I come from a family where basically all the women in the family have been nurses. My mom before me, my grandma before her, my aunts and well a few more people. I love everything there is to being a nurse and I’m motivated to work hard everyday because of my compassion for people. I get immense satisfaction from helping people and it makes me feel that I’ve been able to make a difference in their lives.

Well that is precisely why I decided to start blogging, so that I know I’m helping people in some way or the other. I hope you find everything useful and wish u all a healthy blessed life!

postheadericon Compassionate Drug Rehab Centers

Guest Post By: Larry F.

Compassion is an essential part of drug rehabilitation. If the staff of a rehab center lacks compassion, the patient will more than likely end up feeling threatened and defensive, which will cause them to fight the treatment. If the patient is at odds with those providing the treatment, it may cause it to ultimately fail. If, however, the patient is approached with compassion and understanding, a bond of trust is formed between the patient and rehab staff, making the treatment more effective.

A compassionate drug rehab center allows the patient to relax and progress at the best pace for their individual needs, giving a push forward when needed and taking a few steps back when the patient just needs space to come to terms with their progress. Recovering from addiction can be a slow and painstaking process; patients need staff who understand that and are willing to take all the time needed to ensure a complete recovery. Compassion means that individual interest is taken the patients and their lives; patients must not be seen as investments or business assets, but as real people with devastating problems who need help.

Compassion is evident not only in the staff themselves, but also in the environment the rehab center cultivates. It can be shown by trying to make the rehab patients feel as at home as possible. Everything from the interior decor to the exterior can project a feeling of safety and comfort. This feeling speaks to patients immediately upon entering rehab and can make the entire process easier.
